I run a small but well equipped workshop near my home in Great Blakenham near Ipswich, Suffolk where I specalise in the repair and servicing of flutes, clarinets and saxophones. If you are unable to get to me and are local I will collect and deliver your instrument for a small fee to cover the fuel used, or you could post the instrument to me if you live further away. Royal Mail do a special delivery service which is relativly cheap and your instrument is insured up to £500.
I also sell quality used instruments when they come into my possession.
Some history about me:
I became interested in repairing woodwind instruments in 1995 when I found it difficult to get my own instrument repaired satisfactorily. I subsequently contacted Graham De Vere White who runs a repair workshop in Hertfordshire. Graham used to teach repair techniques at both Merton and Newark colleges and he agreed to teach me (Thank you Graham).
Since then I have been running a successful business and have gradually built up a reputation for quality work. I now do repairs for several local schools. I also do work for the Wolsey Theatre and for several professional and semi-professional performers.
I have allways loved working with wood and with instruments and recently have taken an interest in harps, I am now in the process of making a 26 string lap harp and will be putting a page on the site to show my progress.
